INNOVATING FOR TOMORROW’S RETAIL
“40 RETAIL INNOVATIONS” ISSUE n°7
A JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE LATEST RETAIL TRENDS!
The 2023 edition of CEO Rodolphe Bonnasse’s book “40 retail innovations” highlights the main trends driving the retail sector.
Artificial intelligence is one of the most striking trends of the year. It is being used to improve the customer experience, automate tasks and reduce the environmental impact of stores. For example, AI is being used to fill shelves at a Konbini in Japan, prepare guacamole in California, create virtual pop-up stores on midjourney, improve virtual fitting, automate fast-food drives, prepare customer trips and develop local promotions.
CSR is also a major area of development for the retail sector. Retailers are committed to reducing their environmental impact and offering more sustainable products and services. For example, brands such as Ikea, H&M and Carrefour offer second-hand, rental and recycling programs.
Retailtainment, the combination of retail and entertainment, is another key trend. Stores are looking to offer unique, immersive experiences to attract customers. For example, luxury brands such as Dior and Chanel have opened unusual ephemeral stores, such as yurts or ice cream stores.
